Nesting?

I have a throw thing on the sofa to save the leather from doggie nails. Maya has just spent the last 5 mins at least digging the throw, pulling it all into a pile, digging the pile, circling ontop, lying down, getting back up, digging it again, circling, lying down, getting back up... etc etc etc..

She does this all the time, people laugh at her at shows cos her bedding gets thrown everywhere in the crate, she sometimes ends up UNDER the bedding. She just seems to like making it into a nest....

Anyone elses dogs do this? Maya has done it since she was a pup. She will spend as long as it takes getting it perfect before she will lie down and go to sleep

Henry does this, we have had some very firm words about whether or not this is appropriate on the sofa

He does it especially when he's wet or damp.

I thought it was funny when my old bitch did it one day - then she had a phantom!!!

Stella does this as well. Sometimes, when she's really exasperated, she starts whimpering and uses her teeth to rearrange the blanket. It always ends with her going underneath the blanket. Though Bostons aren't considered true teriers, they definitely have that terrier love for burrowing beneath things.

My male parson does it EVERY time he bloomin lies down, drives me insane!!! It is quite cute when he's got it all 'perfect' and eventually lies down looking really chuffed with himself though!
