Netflix Untold The Shooting at Hawthorne Hill

Did anyone read the threads in Chronicle of the Horse at the time?

I have not watched the documentary yet, but I do think that Lauren Kanarek is dangerous and crazy.

Why was a pink "girls" gun at the scene and why were no fingerprints found on it, and no gun residue found anywhere on Michael?

Watched it yesterday. I love me a crime documentary so a horsey one is right up my street!

I can’t remember how to do the spoiler thing so will hold off on my opinion for the mo 🤣

Thanks for the suggestion watched it last night, really good!

I agree she is quite nuts, though the documentary was definitely edited in a way to highlight that (all the cuts of he barking orders at her partner etc) Definitely lots of unanswered questions though. the big thing I don't understand is why on earth she was still there and why he didn't just evict her? She was living on his property and boarding her horses in his barn through all this. It was briefly mentioned in the trial but no real logical explanation given of why he didn't just kick her out, didn't seem he had even started any sort of legal proceedings to do so other than threaten her with it.

I also found the bit around him selling her the horse a bit odd.

I only lasted a small glass of wine and the quavers......
I watched it all the way through, but it was dreadful, both the content and the people involved..
I know a top class documentary maker (they have won awards) and they would be disgusted with the whole film…
I still don’t know the truth….

I suspect only 2 maybe 3 people know the truth…..

I did read all the coth threads at the time, was wild from the start

Oh I really enjoyed it 🤣 but I'm not terribly high-brow in my TV watching and do enjoy a dramatised documentary. I found it easy watching and interesting as I hadn't actually heard of the case before, but it didn't really come across as very factual/answering many questions.

He tried to evict them several times. I'm sure they also broke in when he changed the locks and damaged the property. They threatened to set the horse barn on fire and called child protection falsely accusing him of sexually assaulting his children if I remember correctly.

Lauren also posted on COTH. It was quite something...

Interesting! They definitely missed all that out the documentary (other than the bit about CPS). There was just an odd comment in the footage from the court hearing about how he ‘sent them a letter threatening them with eviction’ and I thought why on earth did he not just get rid of them in the first place?!
