Was thinking of using it on my youngster next year when I restart him as it looks a good bit and wanted to move on from his happy french link.
What do people think of it. Also, do they come up big or small?

I love them and my horse goes well in them. I ride in a normal lozenge snaffle and use a trans universal when I need brakes. They come up a bit small.

I ride in 1 all the time and really like it as do all my horses. Have also ridden a fair few other horses (1 even today) who have all gone very well in it too. If you call them they are really helpful to talk too

found a cheap second hand one with eggbutt instead of loose ring. Thing is my gelding is about 5 1/2 normally and I tried a different 6" one (the size of this second hand one) on and could fit a thumb width either side. Does this mean that the 6" one will be too big?

I've got one for my rising 5yo. I bought it for him after he was rebacked last summer to replace his happy mouth full cheek. He goes really well in it, I'd say they come up 1/4 of an inch smaller than most other bits so a 6" might be too big for yours. I spoke to NS and they recommended this one to me - they're really helpful, give them a call.

They do come up a bit small, but as they come in 1/4" i only normally go up that much, i.e. if in 5 1/2" loose ring french link, would put in 5 3/4" Neue Schule.

What is the shape of your horses mouth/tongue like? Having spoken to the lady at NS she advised different NS bits for my too, One has a very big tongue, fleshy lips and is in the trans angled, the other is a TB with a very fine/delicate mouth and quite sensitive and is in the NS team up. Both go nice in these. Def worth paying full price and getting the right one and size imo.

cool thanks may give this one a miss then. He doesnt have a fleshy mouth and not a huge tongue but there doesnt seem to be massies of room in his mouth. thats part of the reason i wanted to move on from happy mouth as they are quite chunky for his little mouth.
dont know if this pic shows anything:

hes in a french link loose ring and he is not strong at all in it but can sometimes go behind it and open his mouth against it though I know part of this is probably due to him being a baby.
i did send them a message but haven't answered so may give them a ring!

I would give them a ring and see which they suggest, they are realy helpful.

I have a 5 3/4" transangeled 55mm loose ring that i don't use, and was going to put it on ebay ...
