Please bear with me as I have a few, possibly very dim questions.

1.What’s the difference between a dutch gag and the ns universal bit?
2.And the difference between the tranz loose ring, the starter and the team up?
3.Are the jumper and elevator bits designed to be used with two reins?
4.And finally, what’s the difference between the ns bits and the Cotswold sport “tongue saver” bits apart from price?

Thanks very much!

i can answer the first question as i've used both on my boy. the universal gives slightly less poll pressure as there is less leverage and obviously doesnt hve the bottom ring of the dutch gag. the universal also has a very very thin mouth piece compared to the gag and this is what my boy hated and he ran away from (tanked off with me). basically he came to me with the gag. he was such a good boy, i wanted to try to downgrade. a bit bank suggested the universal as the first thing to try. it wasnt that it gave any less control, it was simply the thin mouth piece. it must've hurt or pinched him as he's been used to a nice thick one. after he tanked off with me, i put the gag back in and he's taken months to settle back down after our no brakes experience. (he's quite a fizzy boy anyway and had it in his head he had control from that moment onwards) altho we're getting there for sure! so even tho i'd prefer him in a less of a bit, the gag is what suits him so thats what it has to be.
