Hi there,

I've been recommended the Neue Schule NS Elevator bit for my strong speedy showjumper. From what i've read it sounds like a good bet so i've got one on trial from a bit bank.
But, having never used this type of bit i'm not sure exactly how to fit it (on the bridle - where do reins attach etc).
I'm taking my horse to hire a course tomorrow in the spirit of trying a new bit out before a comp so really could do with the advice before then - so if anyone has used one could you explain it to me!? :o
Some people on other websites i've looked at seem to call dutch gags elevators but the one i'm talking about is this http://www.thehorsebitshop.co.uk/product.php?xProd=67&xSec=20
Thanks so much!

attach bridle cheekpieces to top ring (like a pelham, or hanging cheek)
then either one rein on either of the other rings (depending what action you want, read that article)
or 2 reins, one on each ring

As above but can also be used with pelham roundings on the two lower rings if neccesary. If you have a crank noseband check for rubs as the upper ring can press against the skin and pinch between noseband and bit.
