Neue schule or cotswold sport bit?

I currently have my girl In a 16mm diameter 5.5" neue schule hanging cheek that I've borrowed off a friend. She goes nicely in it, but to be honest I've not played about with many bits with her as she's quite fussy.
Anyway, friend would like the bit back soon so my question is, I've seen the Cotswold Sport tongue saver bits that look similar but It comes in a 12mm diameter. Would this make it more severe than the NS?
Also would she need the 5.5" as the curve looks bigger on the CS bit?
Any advice would be grateful!
 
Hi, I think you've answered your own Q: I have NS bits and a CS version too. The cotswold sport versions look similar but are a bit different. The tongue saver is designed to be an alternative to the NS Verbindend rather than other types of NS bit, and has a different action. It's also slightly different from the Verbindend anyway in terms of the angles of the crooks in the mouthpiece. Some find their horses go just as well in the CS versions as in the NS versions, others don't... so I guess what I mean is unless replacing like with like be ready for your horse to take to it differently - could be better, could not be, could be just the same!
 
Thank you, yes your right, without trying the CS bit it's a risk. Because I've not tried her in that many different bits I don't know if she could go better than she already is, but on the other hand I think 'if it isn't broke don't try and fix it'!
Will have a look if a bit bank do CS bits.
 
Bit banks don't do CS bits.

However the ones I have used (after hiring expensive ones from the bit bank) have done exactly the same job
 
Cottage Craft do german silver bits with lozenges too, depending on what type of NS bit you have been borrowing :)
 
Thanks everyone, I'm going to take a chance on the CS bit I think... OH may kill me if I'd doesn't work and end up buying NS too, but oh well!! 😳
