Personally I'd just buy a loose ring snaffle with a lozenge (if you feel you need one) way cheaper and probably just as effective.

Sorry - a cheap lozenge one isn't the same. I love NS bits, have them in everything, as does my instructor. I'm intending on using one when the time comes to break mine in.

Tried normal loose ring with lozenge....awful. Bought NS starter lozenge.....nice! Even better is the Sprenger Dynamic....horse very happy!
Ive now changed friends ex racer over to the starter bit and he changed behaviour within seconds.....he had been in the standard loose ring snaffle lozenge up until that point.
Can only say good things so far.

The starter bit is a completely different shape than that of a cheap lozenge bit. Not just good on baby horses, my older horse loves his, guess due to the shape it is comfortable for him.

Thanks for all your replies. I will get one - I also have a yearling and 2 year old so will do for them as well in the future.
