Neue Schule Turtle Top

Interested to hear reviews on this as it's relatively new - I know NMT highly rates it!

Does anyone else have experience of it, especially for horses with low palate/fat tongue/fleshy lips and/or tense jaw?

I just bought the turtle bit not used it and heard another was coming out so interested in feedback

I changed my big gelding into a turtle top (was previously in a verbindend) to try and help with his fussiness in his mouth and reluctance to maintain a consistent rein contact. Whilst it hasn't cured the problem he is definitely more settled in it than the verbindend. It took him a week to get used to it though so dont make judgement on just the first ride.

I have my 5 yr old Anglo in a full cheek turtle, and he really seems to like it. We started off in a NS tranz losenge which he went well in but even better in the turtle. The lady who fitted it suggested it felt nice and stable in the mouth like a mullen but had the flexibility of the jointed bits that riders prefer.

Mouth conformation wise, mine has a small mouth and a big tounge but he hasn't had issue with this being quite a thick mouthpiece
