I have an Arab cross who is 15 years old, had him 9 months and finding it hard to find a bit he is comfortable in but gives me breaks. Before I had him he was rode constantly in a gag on bottom rein, martingale and grackle noseband and just raced about. I rode him in a French link snaffle and have also tried bitless but have hardly any breaks and his is very dry in mouth and a very high head carriage. Have on trial a tranz
universal which seems to help with saliva but I still have to use a flash to stop him getting Tongue over bit. Would I be better with Verbidend universal?

My mare was ridden in a Dutch gag with a French link mouthpiece with rein on the 2nd ring before I got her. She was advertised as being very strong on the way home on a hack. I use a NS Universal with 2 reins and have excellent brakes. I did one take her out in the Tranz which is like a French-link snaffle (don't think it's the verbindend) and she pulled like a train in trot. She does have a naturally very wet mouth though, so probably not much help to you. Could you put the bit up a hole so that you don't need the flash. Have you spoken to Heather Hyde? she would probably be able to advise you. I went to a bitting talk which she gave tou my RS, she was very good and helpful,
