I have one of these on trial at the moment and was hoping for some advice. My horse has always been a bit fussy in the mouth and grabs hold of one side of the bit and leans on it. I found when schooling today that he was lighter in the mouth and more uphill but seemed almost over sensitive to it if I took too much contact. My question is, do horses take a while to get used to the different feel? He was great hacking in it. Also, is it worth trying the team up? It looks like a milder bit? All physical checks have been done so think it is a schooling issue. Thanks for reading

Same reaction with my mare. Swapped from KK to this as supposed to promote lightness in front and give more precise aids for lateral but she went horribly first time Schooled her in it. Hacked her out and she was better and then had lesson where she was much less on the forehand and her lateral work so much more improved. Am going to guess was doing too much with my hands in the old bit. Instructor told me to alternate with KK to ensure she didn't get immune to the effect. Would be interested in an update from you

Thanks LL that's really interesting. I've only schooled him the once so far and he had moments if brilliance but also moments of utter disaster! Think I need to ride more off my seat and legs and leave his mouth alone. Easier said than done but I will keep trying!

Try having a lunge lesson without reins, that should help

If you contact NS direct they should be able to help with your question. Heather was very good when I spoke to her about a year ago
