I have one of these on trial at the moment and was hoping for some advice. My horse has always been a bit fussy in the mouth and grabs hold of one side of the bit and leans on it. I found when schooling today that he was lighter in the mouth and more uphill but seemed almost over sensitive to it if I took too much contact. My question is, do horses take a while to get used to the different feel? He was great hacking in it. Also, is it worth trying the team up? It looks like a milder bit? All physical checks have been done so think it is a schooling issue. Thanks for reading

Hi...
I cant comment on the team up...but I have my boy in a verbindend at the moment.
It did take a while (approx 2 months) for him to truly settle with it...I even put him back in his kk (sprenger) as I really thought he hated the NS and i was wasting time.
However...we now find that he is a lot lighter in mouth, he used to really set against me..hence me trying it in the first place.
I do find that he hangs on the right rein...but cirlcles taking an outside flexion and allowing him to straighten once he has met & accepted my contact (no tension etc) works well. But can take awhile - he is stubborn!
I do think that because it asks more of them than a snaffle say.. they try to evade it for awhile...I say persevere...But ultimately only you know what works for your horse. also have u tried taking up contact gradually..working in a long & low outline to begin and building up collection...maybe asking for more each time in schooling until your horse is used to it...
