As above really, i have a rising 4 year old that i was consideing one of these bits for - neue schule Team up or KK ultra loose ring, any views/ preference or other equal bits.

I had the same choice as you, and after trying both from a bit bank I went for the NS. The angle of the lozenge is slightly different between the two, and my mare didn't like the extra tongue pressure the KK put on. She was beautifully light for about the first 20 mins in it, and then got really quite bothered. She is particularly sensitive about any tongue pressure though, so others might not be so precious!!
Would def recommend borrowing both, so hard to guess their preferences otherwise!

My 3 year old is wearing a NS starter and really likes it, she opened her mouth in all the other "baby bits" I usually use for mouthing whereas she really mouths the NS nicely - and doesn't get her tongue over!

I haven't tried the NS, but I'll add my two cents for the KK. I got a KK Ultra for my TB when he was about 5ish. He was fine in it, and I don't fuss with bits too much so left it in. Turns out he's much better in a normal french link :)

My mare hated the NS team up so I now have the KK ultra which she loves. Although saying that I sold my NS to a friend as her horse loves it :)

i'm a big fan of the KKs.
fwiw i have NEVER heard of a KK breaking and i've heard of quite a few NS bits breaking. i'm afraid that's enough for me, no thankyou to that risk.
tbh though you're best borrowing and trying, it comes down to the horse's preference (as illustrated above!) so i'd ask around and try different things.

My 4 year old is in the NS Team up and goes well in it. Though I am also a fan of KK, I think the price is what swings it, KK are twice the price.

ive always had neue schules until one broke (used for flatwork on a light pony, never came under any trauma at all and the ring snapped!) and now i have a kk ultra. I have to say you do get what you pay for and the quality is very very good. They do lots of different angles in all the different ranges so maybe just a question of trying them :)

If you know what bit and size you need then I recommend the British Dressage Classifieds - lots of Sprengers go on there half price.

I'm for the NS all the way. Started one of my boys off in the starter, went onto the Team up which he loves. With my other older horse used a Team Up then onto the Verbindend and really fab difference to anything I've used before.
