Yes.
There are 2 approaches with PSD - shockwave therapy or neurectomy

my friend has just found out her horse had this done in 2006, unfortunately the horse is still lame.

if the horse never came sound then it's unlikely PSD was the cause of its original lameness. before performing the neurectomy the horse must come sound with the nerve block that tackles that specific area - if numbing the nerve doesnt make it sound, then cutting it wont. if the horse did come sound then went lame again, then it is possible that the nerve has regenerated.
