So decided that it would be a good idea today to ride my horses around the stubble fields after having 5 days off which isn't generally an issue but today there must hahave been something in the air apart from it being bitterly cold with a brisk wind!!
The first one would have put any grand prix horses passage to shame and I was sure at any given moment I was going to be catapulted into orbit but survived...
All was going well with my second horse and we were having a nice leisurely stroll around the edge until two rather inconsiderate bloody pheasants came squawking and flapping from the hedge next to us so said horse takes off from zero to sixty in 0.1 seseconds with his head between his legs again was pretty sure I was going to be eating dirt but survived....
Last but not least was my old faithful sam who is supposed to be the sensible lad and we were company for my friends not so sensible horse. Should have steered well clear from the dreaded stubble field but no off we went my friend wanted to go for a canter...again started off fine popped into canter was fine and well until friends horse gave a squeal and buck nothing drastic and what does my horse do but arch his back. bronc. Stop dead and send me flying over his head!!! Managed to land on my feet with reins still in hand with horse looking like butter wouldn't melt!!
Should have given up after the first one!! What a day! Is anyone else's horses feelin rather fresh in this fresh weather! I have a lesson on all three tomorrow so I'm really hoping they have got rid of there excess energy today I know I'm knackered!
