Neutering Complications...

My lovely labrador Beau was neutered on monday. The op went well, he came around fine etc. But he was back at the vets yesterday as he seemed to be very uncomfortable and ummm... Swollen

He was bleeding a lot from the day he came home (phoned vets and they said he must have been licking stitches...) but that improved by wednesday, but by thurs night he'd started bleeding again and was very unhappy... So he went back in yesterday.

Anyway, apparently the blood has pooled in the "sac" (lovely

) and thats why he's very swollen and sore, and its possibly getting infected too because of it

Anyway, he's having painkillers, antibiotics and steroid cream to rub on which he hates as its very sore! He also has a big lampshade collar now so keeps getting stuck in doorways

Poor little man, nothing is simple for him...

Thoughts for poor BoBo please...

Aaw poor lad, hope the antibiotics do the job and it settles down soon. Don't you think you should make him more comfortable though?

Poor little guy has had a hard life, as a pup he was attacked by a spaniel and got bitten and ended up getting an infection in his elbow joint from that and nearly lost his leg, then from that he picked up MRSA at the vets and nearly died from that... Then had a bad reaction to the MRSA meds! It never ends for him, poor little man!

He needs pampering while he is sick, poor baby!

I think its the droopy lip that does it

He has just managed a bowl of sweet tea so he cant be feeling too bad right now
