morning

so for a change i thought i would plait paddy's tail up before the lesson.

next thing i know i am laying on the ground and paddy has disappeared and the girls on the yard are around me

So this is what i was told i turned around to see someone and he kicked out, i am hoping it was at a fly and not me and got me on the left hand side of the face. i was out for the count.

On the plus side i have not broken anything although i do have to go back to the hospital tomorrow.

i am looking like a chipmunk.

very sore today and really really glad that paddy does not wear shoes  :D

so not able to eat solids if anyone one would like to cheer me up as i have been told i am not allowed to ride for at least a week :(

My yard owner says i prop will not fit into my riding hat at the moment anyway lol.

OUCH ! :( Sounds like you are one very lucky lady !

The week will soon pass. I would recommend you get yourself some arnica gel and also some arnica tablets to help the bruising come out and encourage quicker healing.

Can you not lunge Paddy ? Or do some ground work with him over poles etc whilst you can't ride? Borrow someones hat of a larger size?

Does chocolate count as a solid bearing in mind it melts ?? I would suggest a large bar of choccy to ease the pain ;)

My horse kicked me in the face last week. The swelling went down after about 4 days, bruising and black eye have now nearly gone. Take some anti inflammatories for the swelling and try witch hazel on the bruising. Apply something cold to the swelling it'll help bring it down.

yeah i am trying to take pain killers and stuff at the moe i think i might chance my arm and ride tomorrow. but shhhh don't tell anyone its paddys birthday tomorrow it would be wrong not too lol :D
