HELP!! I made the mistake of giving Bruce, my spangle a lush bone this morning which he is so delighted about... But I now need to go to bed and he is determined to bring it up to my room with him. He'll let me take it off him, but short of flinging it outside I can't find a way of hiding it from him
- and even if I did hide it he'd only whinge.... Am I destined for an interesting night with an over excited spangle and a mahoosive lump of dead animal!?!

Toffee44-I tried that one and for the first time in his life he tried and succeeded in opening the fridge! I guess I have live with my foolishness- it won't be the first time I have had to accept responsibility for my stupidity!

mine has brought hers to work with her tonight i gave it to her 3 days ago and she still has it i had to leave it in the car this morning as her chewing was keeping me awake and then all i could here was her walking up down the wooden kitchen floor grrr

My dogs bones go up on top of the bookshelf when I've had enough of the chewing or I am going out! To be fair they can still see them but they dont make a fuss just sigh rather loudly and go to sleep!

When they have bones I only let them have them for a short while, I wrap and put in the fridge, they are used to me being cruel but know they will get them again soon unless they are minging. I do exchange for a dog treat though so they dont feel hard done by or get possesive of them.

Your way too nice DG, I just wade in and go 'p off funs over you can have em later!' Hence the loud sighs...I'm sure Flora does a good pouty lip as well :p :D
Mind you they got their revenge today, I took them for a QUICK walk to tide them over before I went to the docs this morning. Tilly stuck her face in cow poo (beard and all) milo made constant attempts to roll in cow poo and Ellie rolled in fox poo. Cue angry frantic bathing of everyone and heading off to the doctors probably smelling far less than fragrant myself! Little sods! Flora did nothing except go swimming in the freezing cold river which is fine by me!

Thanks for all suggestions-I ended up putting it on a shelf. Was a bit hacked off to be woken at 4 to all hell being let loose when one of the cats was too inquisitive and having a sniff of it much to Bruce's concern. Que a cartoon cat and dog chase around the house!! Thankfully they are the best of friends and soon settled down in the same dog bed with the misunderstanding cleared up:)

Have to admit mine dont bring them in the house like SU.

Dylan came into the the front door with one a few weeks ago, I gave him the "you know your not meant to do that" look and he dropped said bone on the door step....right into the bloody Mason water bowl Grrrrrr so now they have a washing up bowl to drink out of which is just inside the door and I aint buying them a new one either!!
