We have a new foster dog, Sally the greyhound cross. She wasn't coping at all with kennels so we agreed to offering her a foster home (after saying no more lol).

She's been fab so far....meet Sally

Now then, you just can't let anyone with that gorgeous face go anywhere can you? She's lovely and made for you clearly and so suits that sofa. You can't let her go, you just can't. More pics please.

Saluki, sloughi and ridge back spring to mind , ridge back for colouring , saluki for the regal face and sloughi for the sharp from what we can see of her ribs , salukis are hat racks too. Love lurchers :)

We will see how she gets on with fizz but she's not cat friendly which is an issue as my parents (chief dog sitters) have two cats.

The vet aged her at 2-4yo I think.

Will get some confo shots when I have OH to hold her ;)

Definitely saluki in there I think. She is gorgeous.
I'm going to disagree with others and say I hope you don't keep her.
Good foster homes are like gold, and when they keep their foster dogs to often we lose them as brilliant half way house homes for rehab and health recovery, although I can see the temptation with that beautiful girl.

You can get them to be cat friendly, even if its only ever with cats they know. Nothing beats a lurcher :)

not all of them , mine is ferret friendly will kill stoats and weasels though?

definatly not cat friendly, she is 7yrs now and I have had her since 8weeks.

she looks lovely OP, cant wait for full shots of her and I will reserve judgement on the saluki in her as they usually seem to carry facial marking, sloughi come in the red colour though and have a similar head shape, the sloughi often have quite a distinctive body shape though very different from the saluki

Oh lawks, she's edible!!!! You just know you want to keep her. If I didn't have 4 she would be here now.

I'm seeing Doberman now.

Am I seeing Visla, somewhere? lurcherlu has suggested Ridgeback because of the colour, and there's possibly a distant shape connection too, but I'd have thought that some form of Hungarian Pointer was in the mix. There is as you say ribbons, also a suggestion of Doberman, perhaps, but apart from her being a most attractive animal, it's the quite striking colour which sets her apart.

I realise that it's asking too much, but another indication as to her ancestry could be found in watching her move, mostly at a trot. Breed distinctions are then sometimes clearer. Any chance of a Vid? :)

The more that I look at the pics, and her colouring, the more that I think that she's a cross bred H_V. I very much doubt that she has any Greyhound in her, though I could well be wrong. Again though, she's a really striking animal!

Alec.
