So to avoid the mud today I opened gate from field to school and let the boys (big G, piggy pony and donkey) into the school to catch them. Friend was with me to get piggy and G came right up to me, angelic look on his face and a 'mum you're so clever to stay clean' before right at the last minute spinning away and galloping out of the other gate to the school, followed in hot pursuit by piggy pony!

This wouldn't be so bad but they're kept on a home yard (not ours) with beautiful gardens....which the boys, tails high, careered around showing off their skid stops etc etc. Whoops. How do I explain 'the Ginger horse tricked me and has ruined your garden'?!? Lol even worse they have CCTV so footage of me and friend helplessly running after the naughty steeds has been captured. If I can get hold of it I will post it as I'm sure it makes for hilarious viewing!!

Has anyone else been left red faced after allowing their horse a little more trust than was sensible?
 
My old horse, sadly long since gone, got away from me on the yard, through a wicket gate and into the garden of the owners. It was a samll private yard. He picked up a bag of carrots recently unloaded from the YOs car and stood in the middle of her flower bed. She approached him laughing to take it off him - laughing that is until he swung the bag knocking her clean off her feet!!

She had the good grace to see it as amusing!!
 
Lol, bet they have a laugh at the video, won't be able to frown for long.

I always take oscys bridle off and give him a good head scratch after a ride, then just slip his headcollar on. Today he had his head scratch, and promptly span away and trotted in circles round the yard for several minutes with me running after him. Not as funny as yours though by a long way!

The other week he was feeling very chilled so i thought we would go for a quick ride. Hopped on off a wall on the lane and was sat there with long reins waiting for a landrover to amble past. As it got to about 10 feet away oscy decided this was a monster and with no warning did a leap/spin combo that left me hanging off his neck. Then he stood there good as gold as if nothing had happened whilst i shuffled back into the saddle. 2 men it the car sat laughing at me :o
 
Gardening skills = not good!!

I did however tread in some divots last night. Until I encountered a hoofy skid mark that must've been three feet long and about 6inches deep :eek::eek::eek:
 
I know how you feel. Ours escaped from their field into the neighbours garden. I got a phone call from them when I was at work to say my horse was looking through the patio doors at them! Had to send my friend to go and catch them as I was too far away to get there quickly. Thankfully she managed to retrieve them all easily, except for her little pony who was dancing all over their prize rockery!
 
My friend was doing the boys this morning and apparently there are hoof marks all over the garden!

It's okay though, the piggy pony (hers) got blamed by the gardener...I'll just tell G to keep quiet :D

Loving the escapee stories btw, having a good old giggle at my desk reading them!!
