new and old RAC students...

Personally I hated Aber. I did the HND Equine. THe staff were totally unfriendly and unhelpful. I had Gastritis and couldn't move out of bed without being ill. No-one came to find me or find out how I was. I was in the halls of (un)des res. They also cut parts of the course AFTER I got there. They happened to be the parts I was really interested in.

The locals were unfriendly to anyone without a Welsh accent... apart from that I really liked Wales...

Harper Adams is MUCH better than RAC... no... seriously!

I work as a student ambassador, so I talk to a lot of perspective students who ask me about the RAC, and none of them are ever very impressed by the atmosphere.

It just lacks the friendly atmosphere that Harper Adams has... and we're famous for it

Unfortunatly, Harper is very much an agricultural college... we team up with Reaseheath to offer Equestrian degrees, but I think them upstairs are too allergic to horses for Harper to run it's own equestrian degrees. However, for agri business, agri food and agriculture in general, its one of the best!

The accomadation is fab, there are four brand new halls (the last of which SHOULD be up by september!) and 2 halls that are relatively young. All the catered food is sourced on farm or locally. The atmosphere is fabby (we used to have the longest student bar in the UK until Newcastle stuck 4 inches onto theirs!), the location is beautiful, Newport (the town) is very easy for students, there are plenty of houses, most of which are above standard for students! We have two supermarkets, about a billion pubs, a night club... it's rural, but it's still awesome

And there are PLENTY of livery yards nearby

I've never been to ciren, to be fair. I applied out of duty rather than need. But since I came to Harper for an open day, my heart has been set on it!

I wish I'd come to Harper rather than Ciren, I have an impression (might be the wrong one!) that Harper has more 'normal' people than Ciren so I'd have fitted in better. I don't own an estate, or event/teamchase, or like wearing Uggs and pyjamas and big hair, or go on regular shooting parties with all the tweed on - therefore I didn't fit in at Ciren!

Also the halls at Ciren are totally pants.

thanks, from what i know about RAC i dont think i would fit in, even if the degree is fab... i want to enjoy life too; and if i dont fit in then ill struggle to finish the degree i think!!
