Newest arrival 11 month old whippet x Greyhound.....additional fitments...in the shape of a FIXATOR
.....she is doing well and on the mend

Also got an 11 week old puppy greyhound in with fractured leg...no fixator...just big pot
will post some piccies when I get a chance to take some....and other new arrivals

Just noticed I put 2 of the same picci up
not entirely surewhat happened....very nasty fractue...nearly lost the leg....previous owners said...to much after care for them so PTS

Previous owners can't have cared very much
I would go to the end of the earth and back to make sure my dogs received the best care possible, regardless of cost or after care involved.

They do make fantastic bed huggers
esp whippexgreyhounds...they are lovely...not to big not to small
The fixator has to stay on for 6 weeks in total...so another 5 to go
.....hopefully she will be fully weight bearing by then

Fixator aside, WOW she is lovely!!!!!
Cant belive the way some people treat their dogs, how could you get rid of a dog because it is sick???????

Oh bless her, I hope she makes a good recovery.
I have only seen external fixators on people, never on animals. I must admit, they give me the heeby jeebies, I just imagine them getting caught on something...... luckily animals dont worry about that sort of thing, just people who have had far too many knee ops and broken bones!

The vet made a very good job...I must say....this was second operation...as first was pretty bad.....she did get it stuck on crate door...OUCH!!!!! I screamed more than her....thankfully no damage done

Her face is so sad
My OH had a fixator when his leg was broken by a labrador
a few years ago, the loose dog attacked our springer bitch who was in season and on a lead and in her panic to get away hid behind OH and the dog slammed into him and broke his patella. He was in hospital for 3 weeks, in plaster for 12 and the dogs owner got off scot free
Hope she finds a lovely home.

Yep....she will evenyually be re-homed....she will be neutered when the pin is removed.....then after some strict home assesing...she will hopefully get a fantastic new home
