My other half treated me to a new pair of Neoprene lined wellies in December, as my 15 yr old hunters had officially died a death.
Yesterday morning I felt that I had a wet heel! Again in the evening. Not a lot, but I had a muddy patch on my sock ☹️. Had a look this morning when the boot was dry and it looks like there’s a tiny hole in the sole (I can’t see any other issues), which i think could be from blackthorn. My neighbour has lots of it next door and I help her out abit with the horses as she’s too frail to. The boots are under warranty but I don’t imagine that they will be covered for this. Any tips on how I can reseal them? Anything I can squish into the hole? They’re not mega expensive but at about £80 I’m gutted. I really like them! ☹️☹️☹️

Definitely back to retailer for a refund. I've done this with shoes and boots that have failed within two to three months.

The only way to get a manufacturer to improve a product is to return any examples of the product that fail, because replacing a defective product costs the manfacturer (and the retailer)... If you repair the boots, even if it is cheap and easy to do so, there is no pressure on the manufacturer and so shoddy products will still be made and sold.

Thanks guys. I’ll get that process started and see what they say. I’d have liked to have thought that they would have withstood more than a month but I do get that blackthorn is a boot killer. Thanks for the suggestion @meleeka ! I’ll keep that in mind in case they don’t return!

ETA - something like this might work Stormsure Adhesive Tube 15g https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003V71R6A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_bnwaGbJRWD802?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

If you are lucky they won’t check properly, but I think it’s probably fraudulent to claim they are faulty if you know you’ve stood on something.
Thanks. I don’t remember standing on anything - it’s just a guess but it is very possible given that there is so much of it next door. I initially assumed it was just a split or something somewhere but then i saw the hole in the sole. I would have thought that if a thorn had punctured right through the heel of the boot (almost 2 inches of rubber!) that it would have been stuck in there and needed pulling out? The whole might be unrelated, it’s tiny but I’m not sure!
