He came with us with the name Spark Ace (Or Sparkie) which i personally like. However, old man of a father doesn't. His registered name is something like Denniko Lucky Luciano.

And yep, they've turned their nose up at Lucky.

Any suggestions on names??
He's black and white , traditionally marked if this helps!

Aww they have lovely markings! Ran them past the old man and just got a shrug. Its annoying, its "his dog" and no one can have a deciding vote ;(

Has to be a name of just one syllable, IMO. It's easier for them to hear it when recalling...especially if working them.

Dash
Pip
Storm
Jack
Sam
Taff
Bud
Bear
Max
Fly (my personal favourite name)
Len
Flynn
Boom
Tac
Mac
Taz
Ted
Zen
Seb
Kip
Keg
Jute

Blah blah blah blah .... loads of choices...the list is endless.

See I was told it needed to be two syllables, so that the dog can distinguish better between it's name and commands (which are mainly one syllable).

I'm sure on the ISDS site, it recommends names of one syllable for working BC's, but I am sure there are other sites which probably suggest as you were told. I only looked at the one.

Have found it. Copied from the ISDS site, I hope they don't mind me using a copy and paste into here.

Working Use

The Society permits the use of only one, simple working name for a registered dog. Working on the fields, perhaps with more than one dog, a shepherd will be able to cope with names such as "Ben", "Meg", "Cap" or "Moss". But imagine trying to work with "Philip", "Flossie","Pretty Boy", etc.

We are quite happy to accept non-English language names. The test is that the names should, ideally, be single-sylable.

As you can see, they don't dictate that it MUST be mono-syllabic, but it is the "ideal".

I like deefer and louis, I also like Sparky, I would have stuck with that.

My dogs names, I have in, a mix of my own and rescue, as cannot think to much at this time, if any help.

Kai
Bud-buddy
Harvey
Flint
Flick
Rufus
Merlin
Diesel

Hugo I like, nearly called by border that but my friends dalmation has that name! :-(
mine is called Beau!
I also like zip, jet, pip, little quick sounding names, that generally suit the dogs personality (although mine's name is nothing like that! hmmm...)
