thanks, both pics are after about 3 weeks of being shod, i have been told to get the farrier out again as they are looking thin (hes an expensive chap to keep!)

viki - love him to bits, hes got such a personality he makes me laugh. hes looked after me so well - in a thunder storm on the top of the hill the other day he was good as gold and took him out for 4 hours to the pub on sat and he liked that as well!!

Your farrier needs to work on getting the flare removed, it is that which is causing the cracking. The new growth at the top is looking nice and tight and it is that which you want to continue to have really healthy feet.

thanks ish mad, hes putting clips on so that the feet cant spread i think and that seems to help, as well as shoeing him every 4 weeks. glad there is a small difference thanks guys. x

sharon - think he should buy me a beer - (altho i think he would try and drink it - he quite liked my j20) but he just settled for the ice cubes, he crunched them sucked them the wierdo!

Sounds like you've got a really good farrier there. And all the things you have been doing are clearly really helping too. Glad you are enjoying your new horse so much, he sounds great.
