curly horses! i read an interesting article about the beed and recommend every horse owner to buy one THEY ARE SO CUTE :) not only are their coats curly or wavy they have been proved to be suitable for people who have allergies prone to horse hair! this is because of there hypo-allergenic coat!
go to thier new uk website to have a look trust me you will want one! :):):):)

their website is WWW.BCHAPS.COM

ENJOY!!!!

I was looking at a friend's American curly bashkir the other day, really nice, small-but-stocky, big boned horse, amazing coat and mane texture. I think there was an article in the last Western Horse UK magazine about curlies too.

i think the only thing that would worry me about getting one is that everyone would think my horse had cushings lol. i would love to have one. although they average at 14.2hh they are still stocky enough for a well built rider xx

They had one at your horse live this year. it was so cute.its coat felt really weird and was exceptionally soft.think everyone would like one to be a bit different. it wasnt fazed by anything,as it got loads of attention.

I saw the one at your horse live and he was beautiful - they sound like amazing large ponies/small horses, though very expensive, I guess because they are not native to this country.

Hen, ive just been ask today by an american curly owner if i know your friend who has an abc, how weird is that. Would you pm me her name i think i know most owners in the uk.

I am also a Curly owner and they are a fantastic breed!

There are around 50 in the UK now and the numbers are growing every year!

The colt for sale is from unknown breeding so would need to be DNA'd to find out if he is actually an American Bashkir Curly.

he was lovely. if i could of fitted him in amongst my shopping or my hand bag i probs would of horse napped him.

he was a big softie and curled up in his shavings and had a nap oblivious to all the commotion. such a shame were loosing some of these breeds so quickly.

might have to go perm my palomino and rub a bit of mud in his mane.do you think he'll pass and have the same effect?......perhaps my ancient crimpers may need to come out. ;P

Is it really a breed though? Looking at the info in the links they are saying the breed is available in umpteen different types from miniatures to draught horses! More like a coat type/colour situation? In the way that some people say Palominos are a breed, but it's just a colour...

Not putting them down, very cute looking coats, but not a breed as we'd normally think of it...

Looked at the Trevor Hall site, bit unhappy about one for sale, Cupcake one, says born July 2009, will be sold as a riding pony in Spring 2011! They are breaking rather young! Poor little thing won't even be 2 years old.

Yes, the American Bashkir Curly are now specific breed.

They have a unique gene which can cause the Curly coat and their coats are almost always hypo-allergenic.

i dont think they are that expensive considering how many there is in the uk. £3000-£5000 average price for one not to bad when you think how unique they are. xx would love a curly cross appaloosa think that would look totally amazing :D
