New bridle cracking

Purchased a new bridle a couple of days before Christmas last year.

It’s been regularly conditioned and I take it home, so not left in a damp tack room plus it hasn’t actually been used a lot as my mares been off work.

There is almost ‘cracking’ on the browband. The rest of the bridle is still like new without any issues.

I’ve sent a email a week ago just to say I’m concerned this has happened to a 2 month old bridle (and do they have any advice? but haven’t had a response.

Not sure if to follow up with another email?

Any advice. Never had this happen to such a new (expensive) bridle. The white on the stitching is some conditioner as image was taken mid clean.

Thank you

I would follow up with an email and phone them. There’s clearly a fault for that to happen with a quality bridle.

Thank you - I’ll email again and if no response by tomorrow I’ll call.
What make is it?

I don’t want to post the make yet.

Will see if they respond, but frustrating to not get a response yet considering they’ve been posting on social media for the last week. :(

That is really bad @Hormonal Filly 😟

It is clearly a problem with that section of leather used, and they should replace it asap for you.

I would email again, and also try to ring them. If no response, then I would certainly name and shame. Another possibility is to contact the bridle manufacturer directly (if it is made in Walsall, for instance and just sold by the shop you purchased it from) Any reputable company would want to know about this and have the opportunity to rectify the issue.

It's that old chestnut of good old customer service again isn't it.......🤔

I agree @Baywonder, I emailed again and no response yet. I haven’t commented on one of their Facebook posts yet but think I will if no response by tomorrow.

I bought the bridle direct from the manufacture! I’m waiting for them to say it’s my fault and I’ve done XYZ wrong, but I haven’t, you can see by the rest of it it’s immaculate.

They've used shoulder leather for the browband which is pappy and those look like stretch/growth marks common on shoulder leather. It's a way to cut costs, the front (browband) isn't under the stress that a cheekpiece or head would be so a cheaper cut of hide can be used. You would not know unless it puckered up like it has.
