As we will soon be members of BD I have decided to treat myself and my boy to a new bridle for our BD career…. Just wondered what makes/models everyone else who does dressage uses….

I do have trouble with the headpiece and top of the nose band rubbing behind his ears so recommendations for ones with extra padding or ones that sit a bit further back would be good!

Thankies…..

From what people have posted before, the heritage bridles seem really good value at around £50-70.

Personally I'd give the Tesco one a try first. Their 'deluxe' bridle is £33 at the moment and has a comfort headpiece and padded crank/flash nose.

Okay it's imported leather but for that price you could use it as an everyday bridle and get a nicer one for best.

Re the headpiece just get a browband in the next size up as they're often made too small.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm going to spend the whole afternoon on the net looking for bridles - my boss has gone home early today!!

I have a keiffer for my snaffle and a Sabre for the double but I find whilst the Keiffer fits really well - in order to get the two bits fitting well in the double it is difficult to get it to sit comfortably over the head ie a struggle to get on. I have an 'old fashioned ' type - with separate additional head strap for the second bit - I am sure there must be a better way of dealing with all this - too much leather over the head.....ideas please.
