Hi, my pony is currently ridden in a Dutch Gag with a flash. However she crosses her jaw and is very strong when I am hacking her out and can be strong when I am jumping her at home. So I was wondering should I try a grackle? I think it could help her however I don't want people to think I've put it on her just for 'fashion'. Also, when I'm cantering in open fields in company, if the other person starts galloping and I try not to let her, she sticks her head down, nearly pulling me out of the saddle until i let her gallop - is there anything I can you for this? thank you :) x

Yup I use a grackle for jumping my boy as he is strong, dont worry what others think do whats correct for you and your horse! Do you feel you have brakes in the gag? If he leans alot could maybe try a waterford? Good luck!

Yes i would say try a grackle. I had a mare i was competing that did the same and was in same bit too and she was totally different to ride afetr i channged nosebands! Okay as long as it is used proerly as many people have them fitted too low which can interfere with the breathing and nostrils. if you are not experienced with them i would just get someone to check your fitting first :)
