My new cob is very hairy and I have begun the process of trimming. What would folks recommend for pulling long thick cob manes? Also, I'm going to get rid of the vast majority of his feathers, again any suggestions for doing this would be appreciated. So far I've only done his forlock and for the first time since I've had him he can actually see where he's going!!

Take a pair of clippers to the mane and feathers - problem solved

If your not so keen on the hairless look, not so sure on the mane, but for trimming the feathers use a comb and scissors. Good Luck!

Personally I prefer to leave their hair on. You could hog the mane, I use a mane rake to thin the mane out rather than pulling.

Feathers by and large can only be done tidily by clipping the leg out. Unless you want to just thin the feather. IMO I prefer cobs trimmed, pulled and smart.

For the mane (unless you are hogging) I would invest in a mane rake/comb - they are about £6 from derby house and they thin the mane and also trim it (depending on how you use them)

My cob is fully clipped out. Tried to grow her mane once and she rubbed it!
I would use a mane rake rather than pulling a long mane, you can use it on the tail too, and scissors for the feathers.
