New Coloured Foal - United x Gribaldi

Just to follow on with the other happy news of healthy foals being born this week, we had our first foal of the season on Tuesday - St Patrick's day.

Paddy is by IPS United (Krack C x TCN Partout), out of Zonja (Gribaldi x Samber x Belfalas xx). United is now competing at PSG under Edward Gal and gained 70.26% at his Zwolle International 2009 debut.

He was also winning Young Stallion at the Zwolle Stallion Days 2007, and more importantly sired Bordeaux, champion of all dressage stallions during the 2009 KWPN stallion inspection in Den Bosch.

Bordeaux is also out of a Gribaldi mare.

Thank you everyone - I am absolutely thrilled. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't a filly as I am unable to keep colts and I really want a horse with this breeding, but the fact that he is so super has wiped out any disappointment!

The mother is doing fine - it is her first baby so she was a little surprised at the birth, but now adores him and thinks he is fabulous the same as the rest of us do.

I will try and get pictures of him at the weekend - he is exquisitly perfect and is loving being out in the sunshine during the days, and snoozing under the heatlamps in the stable at night.

Lucky boy to have heatlamps, I don't think most people appreciate just how cold it gets in most stables in the early hours which can easily chill a foal.
