You hear so many stories about chipped dogs not being reclaimed
If my Beastie ever went missing I'd be out every night searching for her! Unless it's due to the whole 'Rotties are dangerous' (which I don't think they are. They just need to be brought up right and with a firm hand!)
GinaB - Aran is about 4, they said he was surrendered, but is a real sweetie, they said no health problems, so I assume somebody just couldn't be bothered anymore.
I had a cat go missing about 2 years ago, and I'd say my neighbours still think I'm crazy for walking up and down the local roads for months banging a plate and calling "Chico" all day.
I totally agree with you that dogs are fine if they are brought up right, I just hope that these two have been. But I have got to go and buy a muzzle for him anyway, and collars, and leash's and cute doggie beds and doggie food. The rottie is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old
So pleased you managed to help them. I used to work at a kennels and we would get strays in there...someone even let a german shephard which was beautiful. I nearly took home a couple on several occasions but we offered a rehoming service and people would come in and take them home :0)
I didnt realise they still did PTS....pleased you managed to save them....shame really....
Good luck and have lots of fun
They are lovely. I'm sure they're in for a fab life now.
The city shelter here in NYC gives dogs about a week, I think, before they're put to sleep. For my sins, I often visit theCACC website website to see what kind of doggies are available -- sadly, way too many Pit Bulls found wandering loose in the Bronx and Brooklyn
