Hello all ... Don't normally venture in here, but thinking about taking the pony out to strut his stuff doing a bit of unaff dressage this spring. Looked at the local venues and what's on and realised that a lot of the prelim tests used are getting on a bit in age.

So, just a quick thought ... Do we need some new ones?

(With apologies if this is discussed regularly ...... Just a thought)

You probably do, or you can try to pick and choose tests where you've got the sheets already. Just make sure you've got the right year, I say from bitter experience!

Ditto!! They keep the numbers the same - very unimaginative but just change the year....

I thought the issue was that the venues are using tests which are a bit old, not that the OP's test sheets look a bit old.

I agree the tests need a re-vamp. Although we get a new one ever couple of years venues still seem to favour 13 & 14 it seems :D

There was actually a new Prelim test in 2015 - or was it 2014?

They can't change too many at once, it would be carnage! As it is I've seen people turn up and start doing tests that are more than 10 years out of date ;)

New dressage tests are introduced on a pretty regular basis (thank god, as they can get pretty boring), but there is only so much you can do with W/T/C at the lowest levels...........
