My new boy(2months) is 13. He has a 5inch mouth and fat tongue. Only been ridden in kk sprenger loose ring with flash, I can now hack out in just a Kangaroo eggbutt jointed snaffle. Want to show him in double. Have not a clue. Bits are so expensive so thought I would hire to start with. But,what to hire. Please can anyone help?
 
My fat tongued horse goes best in his Neue Schule Team Up and the forward port Weymouth as this give him the most room.

If you call Neue Schule they are very helpful and the bits are cheaper than the KK's
 
try a rugby pelham

looks like a double and you fit 2 reins to it but it's a single mouthpiece

lots of showing people use this
 
Thank you Foraday. I paid a visit to Bitworld yesterday. Came away with 2 bits. For the double reins I am going to try a Myler comfort snaffle with Pelham sides. Hope this works as i rode my old boy in the same. He was 5 1/2 inch though(unfortunately). I always rode him in a comfort snaffle for hacking and dressage. So i have a lot of time for Mylers. I'll post you as to what we end up with. After owning a 'big' anglo arab for 18 years this 'little' horse is a whole new ball game!
