ive moved to my new yard and everything seems fine. nice people who havent made any comments on how much riding i do. i have a nice field with grass which is a blessing. i do have one problem . hes been in his field only 2 days and today i went to get him in and he was over the other side talking over the fence to the 3 mares. he was walking up and down a bit also. he didnt really want to come in and wen i got him in and started getting him ready to ride he just kept neighing to them and wouldnt stand still. i finally got on and he was on his toes and neighed a few times again. after about ten mins in the school he was ok. he was fine after in his stable and then when they came in he neighed but carried on eating his dinner. the mares are in season. ive experienced this before as hes not been near mares before. sorry if i sound stupid im just wondering will he be ok will he settle and eventually ignore the mares. it wasnt very nice seing him so wound up and i only just managed to get on him. the yo said to me today that he wasnt doing it all day and said he was very settled and grazing. her garden backs on to his field. am i worrying over nothing?

i would keep up a routine of putting him in from the field every day, even for just a little while then he will get used to leaving them ,then going back to the field and it wont be a big deal.
just routine every day.

I wouldn't worry mine has only just settled down after a new pony coming on to the yard 8 weeks ago. She doesn't normally bat and eyelid at newcomers but this one really got her going - just like yours is behaving. It may take a while but everything will settle down
