Have any of you guys replaced a trailer floor???if yes what did you use??I have an old rice trailer(wood planked floor) which other than the floor is in great nick!I was thinking along the lines of scaffold planks as that seems to be what is in it now??could be wrong!Would good quality scaffold planks do the job??any info appreciated, thanx!!x

We replaced the floor in a Rice Eventer a few years ago but used the kit sold by Rice.

It was interlocking hardwood planks all pre cut to length and incredibly strong. We also looked at the cost of supplying our own hardwood and it wasn't much cheaper plus would have been a bitch to saw being so hard!

It was about £200 but one thing I'd never skimp on is the price of a floor. I may be wrong but thought scaffolding planks were softwood which will rot far more quickly.

You can use double sheets of 18mm marine ply, glued together, that will give you a strong & stable base then fit some mating over the top & then seal around the edges with a tube of black guttering mastic, This will give you a smart, long lasting & waterproof job. Oh yes & treat the ply with a preservative before you fit it, it saves lying on your back under the trailer trying to paint it.
