all Spot Ons have been chestnut, but new stallion....she appeared bay/brown....

Lovely foal - congratulations! We had one a few years ago (out of a brown mare by a chestnut stallion) who was that colour as a foal and pretty much kept it so was a bright bay with black points (legs darker once foal coat came out).
