Ok, please don't blame me for this one (I mean, I didn't name the filly La La remember!!!)....

Dream's new foal has been named, by Mr Chambon (he always wins)...

Ferramor Golden Dream....... aka 'Borat'

Ps. I would also likely to publicly thank Mr Chambon for his help over the last 24 hours, I couldn't have done it without him.

Dream and Borat had their first outing this afternoon, I put them in the front paddock for an hour where I could keep an eye on them and they soon caused a traffic jam in the lane as lots of cars kept stopping to oooh and ahhh at the new foalie

Stupidly, my camera was flat so no piccies of their first outing - I will take some tomorrow.

well at least you know he'll look better than his namesake!

That really is tragic you cant even shorten it, because then he'll be called "bore" or "rat"

Oh well, I did once have a horse on loan called "the eager beaver" that was worse!

I do like his real name but I think you guys can come up with a nicer pet name.....although if you are anything like me, I am totally useless at naming horses

. You know you've had too many horses when you run out of names.

I mean't to ask - how was the foaling? Did you have any complications? Or was it smooth all the way?

He is a HUGE foal. When the waters broke, the bag appeared and I could see two feet and a nose. 10 minutes later she was still straining but things had not progressed so I gave her a hand. Good job I was there or he might not have made it. After that there were absolutely no problems or complications apart from the usual getting the foal to suck - he tried to suckle everything except her teats! It made for a long night, but was worth it, he's a keeper

He is absolutely gorgeous... sorry, I know I have asked this before, but is he the one by Libro? I think I might be sending Troy over to meet him

Aw that's good. Always nice to have a relatively uncomplicated birth. I'm starting to get quite excited about ours....and of course I have all the usual anxieties - can't be helped.

I too am missing Becki's posts and photos. You did a terrific job Becks and had us all enthralled.

Ok... I promise more Troy pictures this week

He is doing really well, but is nipping everything (including me and Hannah). I keep flicking his nose when ever he nips, not when he is just mouthing, and he does seem to be picking up on it. He is now lifting all of his feet for me, just for a few seconds and then loses his balance a little.

Excellent!! He is going to be such a great horse and I completely agree with you getting him used to all these little things at this age. It really does make a difference.

Looking forward to all the piccies. I always look; sometimes I don't reply though as everyone before me has said what I would say; just incase you think we aren't enjoying them.....we are.

Thanks Tia... I did worry I would be boring everyone with new mum obsession

Just wish I could find somewhere suitable for all three of them soon.

They are never boring to me and if they are to others (which I highly doubt!) then they don't need to open the posts.
