Not horse related, I know...but I wanted to let you know there is PET THEFT going on in the New Forest area in Hampshire.

My beloved pedigree Somali cat, Kenzo, a neutered male, was stolen on 19 August 2012 from Lyndhurst, Hampshire. He is microchipped. I am completely gutted.

My neighbour's cat (next door but one) disappeared 3 days before mine was stolen, he is a black and white mixed breed male with long hair.

My other pedigree Somali, a blue silver neutered boy, was also stolen almost exactly one year ago, on 26 August 2011.

I can't tell you how heartbroken I am. :( completely gutted.

It does seem that theft of pedigree animals is rising, and happening all over the country, a google search will confirm this.

Anyway, I wanted to ask people to be on the lookout for Kenzo, and be aware that there are some very nasty people about that are targetting pedigree pets - please be careful with yours.

Pictures of Kenzo below.

Did they break into you house to steal him ?
Now that is worrying :(

Sorry you have lost 2 pets, must be very upsetting :(

I've just looked at the list of stolen/missing pets on Petlog (microchip database), within a 30 mile radius of Lyndhurst, and there is a long list (about 40) of pedigree cats and dogs that have been stolen in the last 2 weeks - areas include Portsmouth, Fareham, Basingstoke. Andover, Salisbury.

Please be extra vigilant about your pets - professional thieves are lurking.
Back gardens are not safe.

I also heard that 2 miniature dachshunds were stolen from Stockbridge, Hants a couple of days ago.
