Anyone know which beaches are ideal for riding? I have been looking at Barton on Sea and Milfrod on Sea - does anyone have any opinions of these two?
Are you allowed just to park up and ride or are their certain parts which you can/cannot ride on?

While on im on here.. anyone know which is better for riding out of Burley or Ashurst in the New forest - looking for scenic routes, long cantering paths with a mixture of forest and open grasslands and rivers to wade through!

thanks!
:D

I grew up in the New Forest although I live in Staffs now! We are actually bringing our horses down on Friday for 10 days and will be staying at my dads place in Minstead! My favourite part of the forest is around Ipley and Beaulieu Rd station as there are loads of sandy tracks and greens perfect for having a blast. I will be boxing over there to meet up with old friends for a ride on Sunday!
I have never ridden on the beaches in the New Forest so will be interested in people's suggestions. According to New Forest website, calshot, Milford, Barton on Sea and Highcliffe are all accessible to horses. I will ask my NF horsey friends and my dad for advice!

Hi Ali, minstead is near me! My parents have a holiday home in Emery Down, off Lyndhurst.. Do you know Ashurst well? I've found a farm who have mentioned I can keep my horses there.. Do you know if burley or ashurst for riding? Having problems choosing!
You don't happen to know any farms nearer emery down, or even minstead area where I can keep our 2??

Try Fleetwater stud and Mill lane farm in Minstead! When do you come down?
I don't really know the forest around Ashurst and Burley! I will try and find out for you!
