Very very interested in the responses as something I was planning to do, but don’t know the area and guide would be a life saver - along with local horse b&b that can do a night or two. (single room)

A word of warning for anyone thinking of visiting. Warmer months you will experience the delights of the crab fly. These are vile little creatures that scuttle about (normally underneath your horses belly and under carriage) and can cause 'unwanted' behaviours! They will only die when you break their backs with your thumbs.

I did this 8 or so years ago, with a guide called Mike, he was brilliant, knew a lot about the birds and wildlife. Cannot for the life of me remember his surname! Highly recommend getting a guide, a lot of the marshy bits look solid, and it would be easy to get lost
