Potentially moving to the area .

Looking for decent pony club, daughters current one has lots going on lots of lessons, events etc but looking on the other pony club sites I can't see much going on!
Where else can she and I go for instruction and other competitions?
Bit if everything including BS and BE.

Thanks

Not sure if its a bit far for you but highly reccommend Wellington Riding PC, been riding there for ages and heard fantastic things about the pony club there as facilities are outstanding. I travel 45 mins to get there as its the best in the SE in my opinion.

We haven't decided which area to move into yet. So suggestions welcome!

I meant to reply to your other thread that I saw yesterday about moving down here (or up here?!)

My mother lives the southampton side of the new forest and its an easy run in to millbrook/southampton from there. Very near M27 so good access for travelling to competitions etc. My horses are kept with her and I'm actually staying with her at the moment so let me know if you come down to the area and want a drive around to get a feel for it.

Re pony clubs, I was in the Hursley pc many moons ago and it was always very active but not sure what it's like now. Although my step-father still jump judges occasionally at the ode. The hursley used to hold regular lessons etc, usually based around romsey, braishfield, stockbridge areas. There is also the new forest pony club but no idea what it is like.

Instruction and competition wise there is quite a choice depending on area and specialism.

Thank you for replying.

It's a tough decision deciding where to go.
We have lived almost 30 miles from work (different branch) but ideally want to be closer.
It's trying to find a nice area, good for the horses and dog walking and a good school, out daughter currently attends an independent school so I have be looking for those in Hampshire although we might send her to a state school if it was good, but I am worried by the ofsted reports of school in those areas!
So it's making the search more difficult!

Schools aren't really my forte as I don't have children! I've got a friend who works at Hampshire Collegiate School (independent) and she says the kids there are lovely (in the majority!). Hordle-wallhampton is a prep school near lymington that is meant to be good (forest way). St Swithun's in Winchester (girl's school) has a junior school I think. Stoud was already mentioned in the other thread.

There are lots of tiny village schools around the place too but no idea of their ofsted reports- although I've got friends in Hordle who are planning on sending their child to the local one. And they are people who would love to educate privately if they could afford it!
