New forum problem- inconsistant performance

Someone posted the other day that the forum was really slow for them. i replied to say it was much better than the old one for me. Well i spoke too soon :mad: Tonight it is infuriatingly slow when i click on anything. i look at a blank screen for ages before anything comes up.

Also, i used to be able to hover the mouse arrow over a title and get the first few lines in a box and now thats disappeared!

Has anyone else experienced inconsistant peformance?
 
I'm afraid its been consistently bad for me - I've hardly been on here since the switch because its so slow. I have to refresh pages several times before they load properly and have lost numerous posts I've tried to make as the page doesn't load properly. I'm on here now because I'm hoping to make a post asking some advice - but apart from this I've pretty much given up using the forum at the moment.
 
I become most frustrated by the fact that, as you say, you can no longer see the first few lines of a thread when you hover the curser over it ... a seemingly minor issue but an annoying one nonetheless! :(
 
It is really slow for me too. I cannot get on with it at all, I liked it when the threads were as they were listed with the newest first, I am constantly reading threads from days ago and after I have waited forever for it to load it is driving me mad.
I am not finding it a pleasure anymore - such a shame, I thought the change was to make it better?
 
Ok well I've just typed a great long post out, hit submit and it tells me I'm not logged in and of course I've lost what I've written. I've been online for 45 minutes now and I've managed to access one thread - this one - so I'm thoroughly fed up!

Bye bye H&H, I'm afraid I won't be bothering to log in again until I can be assured this problem has been sorted!
 
Its been slow for me since it changed to the new forum. I tried at work today and it was just the same there so its not my computer at home thats the problem. I am coming on here less and less. :-(
 
Even slower for me being on dial up, its no pleasure at all to come here anymore, so will also be jumping ship and onto pastures new, sort it out hho.....
 
It has taken me over 3 minutes to open this thread. It is slower than ever before sadly.

Giving up for tonight.
 
I agree. Downloaded google chrome on advice of other forum users which helped for a bit, but tonight it is absolutely appalling. I have always found this site so addictive, and also great to chill out reading in the evening. Not anymore! :(
 
What gets me is that to read the days threads, you have to view 8 different pages - and that's just in NL - pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Have come back on around 11 ish and it is back to being quick, I wonder if it is due to the amount of traffic at popular times?

Can open posts and post quickly now whereas it was taking over 2 minutes per function previously.
 
Hate this forum..... incredibly slow. Can't find any of the posts.

Anyone fancy setting up a new H&H forum just like the old one??!! ;-)
 
I struggled at first, after the changeover. I did something to my laptop which returns the settings to an earlier point in time (senior moment, can't remember the term) and it was ok after that.
 
Just a suggestion, but how about giving admin and team a hand by giving a bit more information to help fix the problem. Browser and operating system version and the time you were experiencing problems could help.

I'm running Chrome on Vista and I've had less problems since the move than I ever had before.
 
I also use Firefox, it hasnt been too bad, usually better in the mornings, and slower in the evening, but last night was hopeless, couldnt load anything or post it was so slow, other sites I use were fine. Gave up at 9pm, hope this problem can be sorted asap
