New from the stable that brought you the tampon in your bedding....

Unfortunately it sounds as if you have some kind of stalker. If the YO cannot sort this out, then I would move asap. You don't know what will happen next and its going to cost you a fortune. Its summer so don't worry about the lack of winter turnout just now. I had a similar thing happen to me at a yard, except I got an incredible number of punctures in my car. They only happened when I visited the yard and no-one else got punctures at all. They always involved nails through the side walls which meant they couldn't be repaired. It was next to a farm which was worked by various contractors, including one who had a reputation locally for stalking women and violence. I moved, and told the YOs why. I am sure they thought I was exaggerating or perhaps making it up but I haven't had a puncture since I moved.

It sounds like the person interviewed by the police my have mental health issues. You seem to be putting up with a lot of really weird and spiteful behaviour as well as theft, do think it could be this member of staff? I used to be on a yard once that was full of young teenagers and two of them were vicious little bullies, textingother girls with threats, threatening to harm horses etc. I got off the yard, sharpish!

I wouldn't move personally as I would be turning detective to find out what the hell is happening to the stuff! Put up CCTV, get the police involved and even finger print things! As for your breast plate - insist on searching everyones elses locker and make sure you mean business! YO needs to pull her socks up too.

i quite agree here, why should you have to move!! i'd do as Ruthnmeg suggested, and shake up the YO, is she/ he honest and reliable i wonder???

I have absolutely no problems with the y/o who is probably if anything to nice and gentle for y/o's own good. I have had a long think about is as pros and cons are:

Pro's
superb hacking off road with local bridlepaths and pennine bridleway within 5 mis ride.
Vgood turnout 24/7 from now till November
floodlight school
turnout on dryish but grass free field over winter
better the devil you know
In walking distance so husband goes up and mucks out each day!
Cons
lots of petty theft happening and not just to me
Often an 'atmosphere'
Often open yelling matches
the tampon thing
fencing iffy
stables damp over winter (tin roofs drip condensation onto beds)
Gone from no grass to knee high overnight =lami watch
school wierd shape to small and surface too deep
Only yard I have ever been on where I have made no friends to ride/socialise with (most others are young teenagers and I am mid 40's!)
dreading persons return who was banned

I am looking at a yard tonight that has good fencing, new school, new stable and similiar good hacking - not as wow hacking wise but can get to my old routes via a bridle path and closer to another national trail with better canter opportunites. Tackroom would be sahred but with similair age professional people (makes me sound snooty, but realistically I must bore the average teenager to death and vise versa)

Sounds like a yard I just left, near Gawsworth (and if not, I can send you in the right direction, because the only youngster on the yard is my sister, and she's pretty quiet!)

Good luck with finding a new yard!

SPEAK TO THE POLICE

I don't understand why you haven't already. There is clearly some kind of issue on this yard. You have suffered theft of more than one item and what sounds like an attempted theft of other items. Then there is the catalogue of disturbing incidents where you have been targetted which could be stalking/harrassment or could be threatening.

Now someone on the yard is making threats to someone else.

An instructor from our yard was murdered by a stalker (not by someone off the yard) you really can't take this sort of thing too seriously.

Police will do sod all about it!! are there kids on your yard who would think its funny to mess with your stuff?? I agree about the CCTV and then taking that to the police so they can arrest the culprit as you have solid eveidence, I also agree that not moving is the way to go. if you stand your ground and have it delt with hopefully you won't have anymore problems.

I feel for you and your situation, it can't be ice to live with it. In your place I would do two things

1)Inform the police of the thefts you have had. YO might be nice but if she continues to be nice she will ot have much of a business left and get a major headache

2) Move to somewhere you can enjoy yourself and your horse. If that involves meeting friendly, like minded people and that the stuff you work hard to buy stays put then all the better.

Good luck
