New guidance for horse riding released by England- how can shows work?

I'm not sure if anyone has seen the newly released guidance for horse riding released today here https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...utdoor-sport-and-recreation#individual-sports but basically only 5 households can meet at one time for equestrian events. How can shows possibly run under this?

Well round here unaff dressage and BD are already going ahead, also unaff and BS too.
The likes of Merrist Wood have reopened indoor arena for arena hires for jumping, plus long and short arena hire.
BE have events starting and unaff also looking likely shortly.

I havent yet seen showing shows going ahead, but there are tentative plans for a few very local ones for possibly end Aug or Sept, if things change.

they cant. as with everything to do with covid, this hasnt been thought out properly. if we are allowed to have as many households as we like in the pub why cant shows go ahead if they are outdoors , like eventing for instance. ely eventing centre are holding 1 day of training comp and the next day an unaffiliated event and i am hoping to spectate as i have friends competing. this directive looks like spectators wont be allowed even though we would be easily able to keep the correct distance

Yes it has started up around me too, but now they're saying only 5 households are shows contravening the guidance? Will they be I'm breach of their insurance?

My local BSPS area had a show on Saturday gone, entries limited to 5 per class and no spectators.

As with all the Covid guidelines the specific ones seem to contradict the more general ones or other specific ones. I wonder if the person in charge of pubs hasn't spoken to the one in charge of equestrian sports.
I've never understood the household thing combined with social distance. For example you can meet a household outside if you are socially distanced. I could meet anyone in the supermarkets or the street socially distanced. Is it a time frame thing? Who knows.

I suspect people will flout the rules especially if the open air bar and beach pictures recently in the news are to be believed.
Im sad to say my yard held a yard show at the weekend with lunch and drinks provided. Not socially distanced from my observations late in the day..more than 20 households mixing sharing horses etc. I didn’t join in for a whole raft of reasons so I’m being treated as a pariah and killjoy at the moment.?
