New hay.....how long?

How long do most of you leave it before you feed the new cut of hay.

Just trying to decide what to have off my supplier. They cut the new hay they are offering about 2 months ago.

Bare in mind that none of my horses have weight issues, lami issues etc.

Have been feeding it already,but at half a section to one old section mixed.

i have got a few bales of last years so was thinking of mixing first, but its not going to last me too long!

i'm feeding it already, as the last of the old stuff was horrible. i half and halved it with the old stuff for a few days.

Im feeding new hay already. I mixed it with last years for about a week and a half.

I always have to have new hay early as the other half sells all the old hay and forgets about me!! Needless to say i "forget" about his dinner! ha

i know a lot of people who feed it straight of the field but i no a lot of horses that have coliced from it has well i always leave mine for 5 - 6 months until it has browned off a bit!
