Can I have opinions on wether it would be ok to feed this years hay that I bought straight off the field. I have had it stacked up on pallets etc since it came off the field 2nd week in June, so it will be 6 weeks this next week. I have been mixing it in with what I have had left over the past couple of days already and both horses have been ok so far but I have none of the old left now, what do you think??
 
Should be fine, I have been feeding my horses this years hay cut about 6/7 weeks ago and they have been fine. However the hay is not excessively green so it must have had a good amount of time in the sun before being bailed.
 
I've been feeding mine which was baled end of June

I fed mine this year's the day it was cut, before the bailer came! I alternate it with stuff which must be two years old now. Was pretty dry though as it got cut a bit late.
 
I feed mine straight away if I need to. Usually just use up the loose stuff first.
I have never had any problems doing that.
