New haylage

Sorry if there has been a post about this recently, I couldn't find it.

Do any of you know please, how soon you can feed haylage once its been done?

I did mine 3 weeks ago, wrapped really well etc, and the contractor said I could feed it after it had cured in the wrap for 5 weeks.

DO you agree that I could feed it after 5 weeks, or does it need longer?

thanks, and sorry!

The chap I bought mine off last year said he had fed it to his horses after 6 weeks with no problems and they had also used it at Bicton after this time. However, i didn't need to use it straight away so left it for 3 months.

6 weeks should be fine, a little earlier if it's had an additive on it during the bailing
