I'm just thinking, assuming the vetting goes well next week, my new horse will be arriving just in time for the yearly bombardment of fireworks. FFS!
I didn't think of that. It'll be a nice welcome to his new home wont it

TBH, I've only met one horse so far that was bothered by fireworks (and these were set off in a display about 3 blocks from her field).
We ensure all the liveries are tucked up warm in the barn on bonfire night and have radios with Classic FM on all night. One of the chaps who lives on the yard checks them all during and after any firework display and he said he's not come across any who are unduly disturbed.
Hope your new horse settles in well

My horses in UK were never bothered in the slightest but then we never had any displays that close. Here, my neighbours think its great to let them off about 1 metre from the horses field, which terrifies them. Its scary, upsetting and horrible. Don't really like thinking about it tbh so going to stop reading fireworks posts now :P

Yes, probably wont be as bad as I'm fearing. Hopefully. Hope he settles OK.
I'll stay at the yard late as possible for the next couple of weeks and with radios and lights on they hopefully wont notice the fireworks too much.
