Yesterday I collected Emil. Was a bit of a squeeze in the new lorry so some alterations are going to be needed (he is only 16hh)
He loaded in a strange paint smelling lorry in about 3 minutes, travelled back with a little banging/scraping of feet but otherwise fine. Stood on the lorry quietly for 10 mins while waiting for YM to come to check passport etc
went in his new stable happy as larry even though there were no other horses indoors (they are about 15/20ft just outside his door)
Settled in like he has been here weeks if not months. as expected he got a little excited when other horses started to come and go, but he stops if you cuddle him
He will have to be introduced to grazing slowly as had VERY limited turn out. So he stayed in.
I went back a few hours later and he neighed too me
Incredibly ALL my stuff fits him too
As he can't go out until tomorrow I decided to lunge/ride. Was a little excited on the lunge, (just inattentive and very forward)but wow he moves lovely!! after about 15 min I got on, ME GOT ON A NEW HORSE WITHOUT getting someone else to do it for the first time at home
once on board I realised I had NOTHING to hold on too, where the hell did my 'oh **** strap' go?? and mane too short to be much good Any way what can I say, he was very forward but an angel, WTC, all the time the other horses were coming and going
He was ridden in a NS snaffle with no flash or martingale
To top it all son and GF came to see him and my NH son is inlove with him. He says he is amazing and he feels more confident around him already than he has ever done, although Micah was such a sweetie I can't see why, but hey that is men! He even told his GF that he would ride him. He has only ever sat on a horse twice
To say I am over the moon with him is the biggest understatement ever!! I really did think I would never find a horse I would feel this confident again after Micah, so miracles can happen
