New horse comes home!!!!

Well finally - and I know it's not that long but it feels like forever - we have chosen, vetted and bought our new horse. We picked her up today and got home after 8pm. Here is a photo of her - not very good because of the dark - better ones this weekend.

She is called Vandalita and she is a five year old black mare. She is apparently very well bred. Her sire is Parco and his sire is Darco and her mother is Dalita and her sire is G Ramiro Z.

She travelled brilliantly considering she has never been in a trailer before -just walked in. She was all ears and eyes when we put her in her new stable - but kept on munching the hay whilst looking round.

Now the shopping begins as she has nothing. Saddle first I reckon.

She's 16 1 at the moment although I am told she might grow. But she seemed about 18 h today with the excitement of the move!!

I thought that, I was unsure whether I had a smudge on my screen. The corner of her mouth, there seems to be a tiny puncture.

Yes - she has chewed on her happy mouth bit and cut the corner of her mouth. We will treat it tomorrow - didn't want to mess with her too much on her first day/night. She will have a day or two before she is ridden and hopefully it will heal.
